Unser Haus Ich lebe seit Kindheit an in meinem Elternhaus. Am 1. Mai 2001 begannen wir mit dem Umbau des Hauses. Der alte Dachstuhl samt einem Teil der Mauern wurde entfernt. In 6 anstrengenden Monaten wurde unser neues Reich geschaffen und so konnten wir am 12. November 2001 die neue Wohnung beziehen. Wir haben nun 130 Quadratmeter auf 2 Ebenen zum Leben und einen riesigen Garten, der noch zum Großteil von meinen Eltern bearbeitet wird. Wir genießen die ruhige Lage etwa 2 Kilometer vom Ortskern von Walding entfernt. |
Our house
Since my childhood I have lived in my parents' house. On May 1st, 2001 we began to renovate it. The old roof truss and parts of the walls were removed. Within six months of hard work our rooms were finished and on November 12th, 2001 we could move in. Now we have 130 square meters on 2 levels at our disposal and an enormous garden, which is taken care by my parents most of the time. We enjoy the peaceful situation about 2 kilometers away from the local centre of Walding. |

Walding gehört zum politischen Bezirk Urfahr-Umgebung im Bundesland Oberösterreich.
Walding hat über 4.000 Einwohner, mehr als 1.500 Haushalte und eine Fläche
Walding liegt östlich der Rodl, unweit von deren Mündung in die Donau, am Rand einer Beckenlandschaft in einem uralten Siedlungsgebiet. Von der frühen Besiedelung zeugen zahlreiche Funde aus der Steinzeit. Die spätgotische, barockisierte Pfarrkirche Walding, die dem Hl. Martin geweiht ist, wurde urkundlich erstmals 1317 erwähnt (Quelle: www.aeiou.at). Im 18. Jahrhundert galt Walding als beliebter Wallfahrtsort. Im Frühjahr 2003 wurde Walding zur Marktgemeinde erhoben. Zu den wohl bekanntesten und attraktivsten Ausflugszielen Waldings gehört der Tierpark Walding am Mursberg, mit einer Vielzahl an Tieren (von Tieren im Streichelzoo bis zu Raubtieren). Ein großes Angebot für Sport, Wirtschaft und Kultur bietet die Anlage des Sportparks Walding, in der alle herkömmlichen Sportarten bis zu Trendsportarten angeboten werden und auch zahlreiche Veranstaltungen für Kultur und Wirtschaft stattfinden. Walding hat viele erfolgreiche Sportler, u.a. in den Bereichen Tischtennis, Stocksport und Radsport, zu nennen. |
Walding - My Residence Walding belongs to the political district Urfahr-Umgebung in Upper Austria, one of Austrian's nine Federal States. Walding has over 4,000 inhabitants, more than 1,500 households and a surface of 15.27 square kilometers. Walding is situated 303 metres above sea-level. Walding lies east of the River Rodl, not far from the point where it flows into the Danube, at the edge of the Danube valley, which is an old settlement area. Numerous discoveries date back as far as the stone-age. The late-gothic parish church with baroque elements of Walding - which is devoted to Saint Martin - was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1317 (Source: www.aeiou.at). Walding was a popular place of pilgrimage in the 18th century. Since the number of inhabitants has increased rapidly Walding is no longer a village but has been bestowed the status of a market in spring 2003. Probably the most well-known and most attractive point of interest is the zoo on the Mursberg, an idyllic place being home of many different kinds of animals, such as elephants, wild animals and also tame animals that you can stroke. Walding also has a large sport centre where you can practice traditional as well as modern kinds of sports but also numerous cultural and business events take place there. Many champions come from Walding especially in the disciplines of table-tennis, curling and biking. |

In Walding sind neben zahlreichen Gaststätten, drei praktische Ärzte, ein Zahnarzt, ein Facharzt für Psychiatrie, zwei Friseure, ein Blumengeschäft, mehrere Autowerkstätten, Zimmereien, Elektrounternehmen und Transportunternehmen, eine Bäckerei, eine Bank und vieles andere, einige Lebensmittel- und Textilgeschäfte angesiedelt. In Walding gibt es eine Volksschule, Kindergarten mit Hortbetreuung, eine Computerakademie, ein Altsstoffsammelzentrum, eine Post-Zustellbasis, ein Kommunalzentrum, einen Jugendtreff, eine Seniorenwohnanlage und auch ein Bezirksaltenheim. Daneben verfügt Walding über eine öffentliche Bücherei, ein Eltern-Kind-Zentrum, eine Rot Kreuz-Einsatzzentrum und eine Freiwillige Feuerwehr. Weiters sind eine Vielzahl von Vereinen und Organisationen vertreten: Elternverein, Chorgemeinschaft, Musikkapellen, Pensionistenverband, Imkerverein, Goldhaubengruppe, Siedlerverein, Verschönerungsverein, Volkstanzgruppe, Naturfreunde, Kultur Initiative Walding, Verein Leben mit Down Syndrom, Verein zur Förderung hoch begabter Schülerinnen und Schüler in Oberösterreich, u.v.a.m. Auch einige Künstler sind in Walding ansässig: Kunst & Form Anton Pesendorfer, Kabarettist und Pianist Rudolf Habringer, Glaskunstbläserei Otasek, freischaffender Künstler Sepp Aumüller, Kunstwerkstatt Erdformen Ariane Matuschek, Maler Helmut Elmer, ... |
In Walding there are numerous restaurants, three general practitioners, a dentist, a psychiatrist, two hairdressers, a flower-shop, several car-repair-shop, carpenter, electrical-companies and transport-companies, a bakery, a bank, supermarkets and clothing stores. In Walding there is an elementary school, a kindergarten with a day-home for schoolchildren in the afternoon, a computer academy, a centre collecting recycling material, a post office with a distribution network, a community center, a youth centre and an old people’s home. Walding also has a public library, a centre for parents and children, a red cross establishment and a voluntary fire brigade. Further there are a large variety of clubs and associations represented: Parents association, a choir group, music groups, a pensioner's club, beekeepers association, group of the golden bonnets, settlers association, an association caring for nature, a folk dance group, an association of nature-lovers, a culture club, an association called "Living with Down Syndrome", an association for the promotion of highly talented pupils in Upper-Austria, and many others.
